MARINE GROUP GLOBAL SERVICES (GLOBAL SERVICES) CELEBRATES GRAND OPENING AS SAN DIEGO’S NEWEST MARITIME CONSULTING FIRM & SHIP AGENT

Global Services is pleased to announce its grand opening offering maritime consultation, ship agent services, crew services and custom crew products based out of San Diego.

Global Services was created after the successful launches of world-renown superyacht refit facility Marine Group Boat Works, superyacht marina Fifth Avenue Landing and boatyard Marine Group de Los Cabos–all pivotal sister companies in establishing a robust superyacht market on the West Coast and Baja. With the yacht customers generated by all three yacht facilities brought with them the demand for ancillary services that didn’t quite fit the core capabilities of a boatyard/shipyard or marina.

“We were getting so many requests from customers who preferred to get all their questions answered and problems solved in one place,” said Todd Roberts, president of Marine Group Boat Works and its sister companies.  “It’s hard to say no to customers so we decided to turn the requests and our expertise in this region into an opportunity for expansion.”

Global Services has a well-established network of marinas, subcontractors, suppliers and regulatory bodies on the West Coast, Baja and Alaska to provide dockage, provisioning, shipping, logistics and passage planning.

“We spent years perfecting our shipping system between our yards in San Diego and Cabo and now we can offer that learning curve to customers looking to ship parts and supplies to their vessels in Mexico.

Folding in The Good Stew program, Global Services also meets crew needs by focusing on crew placement, custom crew uniforms and interior yacht products such as Kanberra, Miele and more.

Global Services not only specializes in ship agent work, but provides maritime consulting using the expertise of its key people, including Roberts, a California Maritime Academy graduate who holds a USCG 1600 ton license.  To date, Global Services has been contracted to perform feasibility studies, concept development layouts, operations procedure development, refit planning, technical writing and more.
