Established in 1986, the Marine Group Boat Works is a full-service boat and yacht repair and refit facility occupying one million square feet of land along the San Diego Waterfront.

Formerly known as South Bay Boat Yard, the Marine Group is nearing completion of an entirely new state-of-the-art facility with dramatically enhanced equipment capacity to accommodate the growing demands of the private and commercial boating industry. The multi-million dollar renovation and expansion project will culminate in the assembly of the 665-ton travel lift, which makes the Marine Group the largest capacity and most reputable shipyard in the United States.

Our new lift is able to accommodate a single load of up to 665 tons and 220 feet in length, bringing the Marine Group's total lifting capacity to over 700 tons. Our new, on-site workshops allow us to provide customized work ranging from painting, to fairing, to mechanical and electrical refits.
